Mountain of Ash

Mountain of ash
mountain of dust
mountain of bones
black cat squeals in the howling wind
crow caws and raven flitters
the light is gone out in the valley
storm cloud on storm cloud
the growing darkness builds
laughing figure steps on remains of a dove
taloned wings fly in from above
the play is ended
the curtain rent
down crashes the circus tent.
Hope is gone
despair is king
wearing a very dark gem
on its ring.
